Hugo Rucks – Fabricator & Artist

Hugo Rucks is a Melbourne-based artist driven by an obsession with visual phenomena—Form, Texture, and Line. These elements have shaped his lifelong exploration of art and his relentless pursuit of the visual journey.

As a teenager, Hugo immersed himself in street art, practicing for nearly 12 years alongside his professional work. This world of bold linework, movement and form left a lasting imprint on his creative process. Over time, this artistic foundation merged with his other passion—fabrication. After 15 years working in Australian motorsport, he found himself captivated by the structured, utilitarian beauty of the industry. Line was everywhere—laminated, extruded, riveted. It moved like music, shifting between tension and release. But in motorsport, these lines were fixed, hidden by function. Hugo wanted to set them free

Merging the precision of motorsport with the fluidity of sculpture, Hugo transforms industrial materials into evocative, three-dimensional expressions of the street art he has always loved. But behind the beauty of his designs lies a deep and profound technical mastery. Every detail is intentional. Every weld flawless. The tooling and processes behind his work are proprietary—designed and built by Hugo himself. His innovations have placed him as a respected figure in the international motorsport fabrication community. His sculptures are not just art; they are a masterclass in precision engineering, built to endure.
